Colorado Springs Startup Week is a week-long celebration of innovation, entrepreneurialism, and the creative spaces and places that make up the Colorado Springs startup ecosystem.

Startup Week is a collective demonstration of Colorado Springs’ COMMITMENT to ENTREPRENEURIALISM, INCLUSIVITY, and STARTUP SUPPORT to all participants that experience the week.

Everyone who participates will LEARN something that BENEFITS their business or them personally. Participants will have the opportunity to CONNECT with others, and participate in SHOWCASING OUR COMMUNITY as an emerging startup market not to be ignored.

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner
Suzanne Crespo is an Associate in the Colorado Springs office. She is a member of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment group, the Commercial Litigation group, and a leading member of the firm’s Contests and Sweepstakes practice area.

Ms. Crespo’s practice includes advising nearly two dozen National Governing Bodies and International Federations in proceedings with respect to governance disputes, safe sport violations, opportunity to compete challenges, and a wide array of claims arising under the U.S. Olympic Committee Bylaws and the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act.

Ms. Crespo is well known for her work on behalf of both professional and amateur sports organizations to design and implement safe sport initiatives and selection procedures, as well as developing and effecting board governance policies, compliance protocols, and bylaw revisions. Ms. Crespo has also played a pivotal role in obtaining Olympic Committee recognition and sanctioning for new and emerging sports, as well as maintaining the good standing of existing sports in the Olympic movement.

Ms. Crespo leads the firm's Contests and Sweepstakes practice, regularly advising clients on federal, state, and local regulations related to sweepstakes, contests, and raffles. Her work has included advising clients on how to structure a legal promotion, writing official rules and other language around sweepstakes, contests, and raffles, and advising clients on the administration of their promotion, including issues around social media.

Ms. Crespo also regularly advises clients on nonprofit formation, governance, board disputes, and other issues unique to nonprofit organizations.

Prior to joining Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Ms. Crespo served as a judicial clerk for Judges Richard Gabriel and Russell Carparelli on the Colorado Court of Appeals. Ms. Crespo received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she served as a Moot Court Editor, and her B.A. in psychology from Cornell University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Outside of work, Ms. Crespo is an avid runner and an elite-level road cyclist. She is a former course record holder on the Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb Ascent (1:28:46, 8/9/2015) and the Professional Women’s New York State Road Race champion (2012), having also medaled in more than 30 other professional or elite amateur road cycling events. After work, she can often be found biking, running or hiking on the many trails around Colorado Springs.
